I’m a leadership development coach, trainer, and facilitator with more than 15 years of experience developing leaders across industries, organizational levels, and sectors. I founded Penney Leadership to develop leaders who know themselves deeply, lead with skill and intention, and create the conditions for their teams to thrive in a changing world.

A seasoned writer, speaker, and facilitator (in-person and virtually) on topics related to leadership and career development, I partner with mid-to-large organizations that genuinely believe their people are their greatest asset, and I specialize in coaching middle managers, who I consider the beating heart of any organization.

I’ve coached leaders at organizations including Google, Hilton, Penske, and MetLife, and have designed and delivered leadership development programs for Fortune 500 companies, Ivy League research centers, biotech firms, financial institutions and more. As a Senior Facilitator for Harvard Business Impact’s Corporate Leadership Development programs and an Instructor at Electives, a leading enterprise learning platform, I train leaders at major organizations around the globe. An avid writer, I also regularly contribute articles to Harvard Business Review, Business Insider, and more.

Based in Providence, Rhode Island, I hold a B.A. in Education from Brown University and certifications in Nonprofit Management & Leadership from Tufts University and Professional Coaching from iPEC. I also mentor emerging leaders through Brown University's Women's Launch Pad, Social Enterprise Greenhouse, and the Institute for Nonprofit Practice.

  • I’m based in Providence, Rhode Island and regularly work with clients across the U.S. and around the world. Coaching sessions are typically conducted remotely, while workshops, training, and facilitation can be offered remotely or in-person. 

  • While I’ve previously had lots of availability for individual coaching, the focus of my practice has shifted over time, and I now primarily coach clients through our work with corporations and organizations. Applications for individual 1:1 leadership coaching open infrequently, but please join my email list to be notified of any future openings!
